Steam manifests: App IDs, search, and downloads
Find the right App ID, understand what a manifest package contains, and use Gegamo Manifest to search and download available packages.

Understand App IDs, depots, and manifests
A Steam App ID identifies a game or application. A depot is a collection of content files, and a depot manifest describes the files for a particular version of that content. These identifiers serve different purposes: an App ID is not a depot ID or a manifest ID.
Gegamo Manifest accepts the game's App ID to look up an available manifest package. Its download is a ZIP package, rather than a game ownership entitlement. Availability can vary by game and source.
Find the Steam App ID
Open the game's Steam store page. The number immediately after /app/ is its App ID. For example, https://store.steampowered.com/app/570/ identifies App ID 570. Use that number, or paste the full store URL into the download tool.
If you only know the title, use Search Games. Check the name and App ID before opening a result so you do not confuse the base game with a demo, DLC, or another application.
Search and download an available package
Enter a game name or App ID on the search page. Global Search is enabled by default, expanding the lookup beyond locally cached results. Open the download link for the result you want.
If you already know the App ID, go directly to the download page and enter the ID or Steam store URL. Complete any required captcha and availability checks. A successful download provides a ZIP package; a search result alone does not guarantee package availability.
Understand daily download limits
Guests can download 1 package per day. A registered free account increases the limit to 3, with synced download history. Premium provides 20 downloads per day and requires captcha only during heavy download bursts.
Check your remaining downloads in the tool and compare the current plans on the pricing page. An account is useful if you want your history available across devices.
Use the Windows desktop app
The Gegamo Manifest app page provides a Windows installer and a portable build. The app supports App ID lookup and drag-and-drop manifest ZIP packages. Read its setup instructions before installing or changing your Steam configuration.
The website search and download tools can be used in a browser without installing the desktop app. The desktop app is a separate option for managing packages on Windows.
Troubleshoot missing results and downloads
For a missing result, confirm the App ID against the Steam store page and try Global Search. For an unavailable package, check the service status page and try again later. Not every result has a package available from the download sources.
If the tool reports a daily limit, review the remaining downloads shown for your current account. If a captcha or network request fails, retry the verification and check your connection. For persistent problems, contact support with the App ID, the error message, and the approximate time of the failure.
